Security door installation is a leaf and frame specified against forced entry: typically a steel door, a multipoint lock, and a frame fixed into the structure. Book it for a villa entrance, a side door, or an apartment door where the building allows a security set and you want more than a standard timber latch.
A security door is not automatically a fire door. If the opening is also a rated stair or a specified apartment fire door, the set has to carry both performances, or the fire requirement wins. A viewer, a lock and a steel skin do not add a fire rating.
Leaf, lock and where the frame is fixed
The weak point is usually the frame fixing, not the thickness of the steel. Screws into plaster or into a thin timber pack are not a security fix. The frame goes back to block or concrete. The lock keep has to meet the bolts when the door is closed without being lifted.
Villa side doors and gate-house doors take weather as well as a lock. A steel door on a coastal plot needs a finish and hinges that cope with salt, or the lock will outlast the hinge.

Fixings reach the structure. A steel leaf on a soft timber subframe is only as strong as that subframe.
Lock that throws cleanly
Multipoint hooks all meet their keeps. One working hook and three that miss is not a locked door.
Included, and the doors this is not
Included is the security leaf and frame in the agreed specification, the lock, and a test that the bolts throw. Not included is a garden steel gate, a roller shutter, an electronic access system, or a fire certificate the product does not have. We do not add bars across a fire escape. If the building has already specified the apartment entrance door, management has to accept a change before a heavier steel door is ordered.

Questions about this door
Only if that exact set is certified for the fire rating the drawings ask for. Many security doors have no fire test. Many fire doors have no forced-entry test. Ask for the test that matches the opening. We will not badge one as the other.
If management allows it and the door still meets any fire or smoke rule on that corridor. A heavier leaf also has to fit the service lift and the frame depth in the existing opening. Some towers refuse a non-standard entrance door. That answer comes before the door is manufactured.
Single or double, the lock grade, a vision panel that is itself security glass, the frame depth, making good, and whether the old frame can stay. Coastal hardware and a longer villa leaf cost more than a standard single side door. The scope lists those lines rather than a single package price.
Surface rust on a face can be treated if the frame and the lock side are sound. A leaf that has lost its bottom edge, or a frame that has blown at the threshold, is a replacement. Patching a gone threshold with filler does not hold a multipoint keep.
